Marketed on and off the MLS in 2017 as “the new preferred address of technology executives and game changers” for a $10M list price, 143 Laidley in Glen Park closed escrow this week for $9.7M.
The sale is the most expensive home ever sold on record in Glen Park. It’s also one of a handful of homes not located in north-end strongholds like Pacific Heights, Sea Cliff, Presidio Heights, Cow Hollow, Nob/Russian/Telegraph Hills that have sold in the $10M range. The others were 737 Buena Vista in Ashbury Heights ($10M in 2014) and 1740 20th Street in Potrero Hill ($9.5M in 2015 and blogged about here).
Not much is visible from the sidewalk at 143 Laidley. Behind the low-slung wooden fence is a five-bedroom, five-bath house with 5320 square feet situated on a 4,996-square foot lot. The property was last sold in 2015 for $2M to a developer based in Woodside:
The sale will undoubtedly be an, uh, game changer that will encourage developers to pursue future projects of this scale in Glen Park.
