Great Opportunities Out There in the Summer Market

Summer is a time for vacations, barbeques and outdoor activities. It’s also an excellent time for home buying in San Francisco.

Our busiest times of year for real estate are typically Spring and Fall. You’ll often find plenty of buyers visiting open houses, and sellers competing for those buyers.

But serious buyers and sellers know that the heart of the summer is an opportune time to do business. Buyers focus on a smaller amount of properties without their head spinning in another direction every time yet another new listing hits the market. And sellers don’t get lost in a sea of other listings.

There are currently 187 single-family homes on the market, and 37% of those have been on the market for a month or more. And though 78 homes are listed for $2M or more, there are 109 houses out there for up to $2M.

Condo buyers can have their pick of properties. More than half of the 297 units available now have been on the market for a month or more. And 61% of the current inventory is listed for up to $1.5M. So there are some great properties out there in all price ranges.
