I had a blast today on broker tour seeing three unique homes on the market along a stretch of Laidley Street in Glen Park—a street known for its quirky single-family homes with big views.
My first stop was 108 Laidley and 112 Laidley, two side-by-side houses that are currently for sale off market by two different owners. 108 Laidley is a 1910-built, 4BR/2.5BA home with a rear studio at the back of the lot listed for $2,695,000. This house was purchased many years ago with what was then the adjacent lot. 108’s owners eventually constructed and moved into the modern 3BR/2.5BA home next door at 112 Laidley ($4.5M), incorporating a tea house, pool, spa and maintaining a bridge between the two houses and selling 108. Both homes have awesome views from their perch atop the neighborhood.
Here are a few shots I took of 108 and 112 Laidley’s exteriors, 112’s tea house and panoramic views:
It’s rare that such different houses go on the market next door to each other simultaneously. Open house goers will enjoy visiting each one and appreciating the different architectural styles.
Half a block away is 70 Laidley, a very charming/quirky 4BR/2BA home being offered for sale with the adjacent 74 Laidley lot included. This home also has amazing views and I loved the old-timey cottage at the rear of the lot. The 70 Laidley setup is similar to the 108 and 112 Laidley scenario above, though the 70 Laidley lot is narrower and not as straightforward with respect to building another home next door. But there are definitely options, and the demographic touring the home is split between contractor/developers and future end users who could create their dream home. I was very taken with the property grounds:
No one can accuse San Francisco of having cookie-cutter homes. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to see these types of properties in neighborhoods I love—absolutely a huge job perk!
